Privacy Policy
A short, readable account of what this website does and does not do with your information.

Who we are
The Shoot Guide is published by 316 Strategy Group, 1402 Jones St Ste 229, Omaha, NE 68102, United States. For any privacy question, write to team@theshootguide.com.
The newsletter form
The sign-up form on our article page runs entirely inside your browser. When you submit an address, a short script checks that it looks like a valid email address and then displays a confirmation that repeats the address back to you. Nothing is transmitted to us, nothing is written to any database, and no address is stored on any server. If you reload the page, the entry is gone. A single session-storage flag is set so the confirmation panel is not jarring on reload; it contains no personal information and is cleared when you close the tab.
Information we collect
- Messages you send us. If you email, write or call, we hold that correspondence so that we can reply to it and keep a record of the exchange.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard server information such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is used for security and to keep the site running.
- Analytics. None. We do not run an analytics script on this site, so beyond the standard server logs described above we do not track which articles you read or how you arrived.
What we do not collect
We do not ask you to create an account. We do not sell anything on this site, so we never handle payment details. We do not run affiliate tracking, we do not operate a retargeting pixel for advertisers, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no cookies of its own — no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. The only thing it writes to your browser is the single session-storage flag described above, which remembers that the newsletter confirmation panel has been shown. It holds no personal information and your browser discards it when you close the tab. That is why you are not asked to accept or decline a cookie notice.
You can clear or block cookies and storage in your browser settings at any time and every article will still be readable. If we ever add analytics or any other storage, this page will be updated first and will say plainly what is set and why.
Third-party services
Web fonts on this site are requested from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads. That request carries the standard technical information any web request carries. We do not send Google any information about you beyond what your browser includes automatically.
How we use information
To answer your messages, to keep the website secure and available, and to meet our legal obligations. That is the complete list.
Retention
Correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for the enquiry and any follow-up, and is then deleted. Server logs are retained for a short period in line with our hosting provider's standard practice.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Write to team@theshootguide.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act; we will honour valid requests under any law that applies to you.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top of the page. We suggest checking it if you have not visited for a while.
